One morning we were experimenting. Here's what we found. The best bread is English muffins. Crossiant will burn if overcooked or if the machine has been used and is still very hot. Solution; Allow to cool for about 5 minutes before preparing the next batch. We also used scrambled eggs in a batch. Let the eggs cook for 2 minutes before adding the topstock. For the poached egg, allow the next batch to cook for 3 minutes before adding the tops. Cooking time for Crossiant for a crispy nonstick crust was 4 minutes. Used sourdough bread cut in half. Did the same as above; Boil the eggs first, then add the tops. Perfectly toasted hot sandwiches. Frozen sausages and ham were used as meat. We put sausages in the microwave for 30 seconds to defrost. These were links so I used 2 and cut them in half to make 4 halves; fits perfectly. Used freshly sliced deli ham folded in half. Cheese used; cut American Kraft singles and cut Swiss Tillamook. The corners of the cheese stick out a little and run over the edge, but stay in the car, nothing spills onto the counters. We mixed and matched all kinds of breads, meats and cheeses. Only a few struggled with the cooking time, but most turned out great and the kids enjoyed helping out with the experiment. The simplest breads are English muffins. The egg does not need to be boiled before adding the leaves; just let it all go The best tasted the crossiants with scrambled eggs, ham and Swiss. Delicious! And the sourdough slices toast very well. Also made chopped sourdough, thin slice of mozzarella, thin slice of tomato, sprinkled with some basil - no egg (just left the egg dividers open). Had a nice little snack. Better with bacon and avocado. :). Cleaning is a breeze. Cups straight up; Place them in a bowl of hot, soapy water for literally a minute, then rinse and dry. Use a warm dishtowel to wipe the crumbs and melted cheese out of the machine immediately without scrubbing.
