After looking at several pet doors this seemed like the best option. It is designed to be mounted on an aluminum screen protector. The instructions were easy, however there are installation videos online. The most time consuming part was cutting the protective film on the pet door. In the original pet door configuration, this would not work with my sliding glass door. After installing on the screen door and reinstalling the screen door on the track, the screen door only opened about 18 inches. The track holding the self-locking sliding door did not go through the fixed window of the sliding glass patio door. The only solution was to remove/cut one of the guides. I probably wouldn't use a self-locking door.
