I've read the Q&A on this product page and it says no converter needed. I put it on for 10 minutes and nothing happens. Doesn't heat at all. I'm sending it back. I asked a friend that the converter is not needed, maybe I bought a broken one. The first was refunded for $163 and another purchased for $174 (excluding tax). Turns out it was about $30 more expensive if bought where it was imported, so it's not exactly free shipping. The second is well heated. It's also made in China and the burners are actually Teflon coated. If you're worried about toxins, think twice before you buy. It feels like all the money went into buying Snoopy's patent so I could make a Snoopy sandwich. There is a learning curve to overcome. After that have fun. I really recommend YouTube all the reviews before buying.
