My 25 year old mare TWH slipped and fell her hind legs under a trailer in December. At the time, she was diagnosed with DSLD by a veterinarian due to damage to both her supportive ligaments. At 3 weeks she was moving much less stiffly, at 3 months she was back to work, at 6 months her lesions were gone, the vet no longer believes DSLD, no residual lameness, and we walk 6-12 miles as a couple. once a week without heat, swelling, lameness. I have to say that last fall my mare was diagnosed with quite advanced laminitis from her previous owners. The horse has helped her grow up to be an amazingly healthy old woman who draws everyone's attention! Soft, shiny and full of liveliness in her gait!
