Shimano old school freewheel removal tool
For the uninitiated (me about two days ago) this tool fits an 'old' Shimano cassette. This is for removing the threaded cartridge. The "New Style" cassettes have a locking ring and the cassette itself is unthreaded. Both tools have 12 splines, but the older type is slightly smaller in diameter. This tool worked great on my 1987 Shimano cassette.
