Review on Nordic Ware Stovetop Kettle Smoker: A Red One-of-a-kind Cooking Essential by Jay Blo

I do not recommend this smoker for an induction cooker

In general I like this smoker. It is easy to use and gives a good result on the BBQ grill. I cooked smoked salmon twice and chicken breast once and the taste was very good. It's just as good as pellets or an offset smoker. NO. This is an economical solution to stovetop smoking. It depends. I've tried using it on an induction hob twice. I tried making smoked salmon for the first time. The result was a lightly smoked salmon exactly as directed; However, I later noticed that the paint from the bottom of my pan had left a ring of red paint on my cooktop glass. I was able to clean the hob with a lot of elbow grease. I also noticed that the bottom of the smoker became convex from the heat. The second time I tried it, I cooked smoked chicken breast exactly as directed. This time the dome at the bottom of the smoker prevented the smoker from working on the induction cooktop. I had to finish the breasts in the oven. For the third time I put the smoker on the BBQ grill. I tried again with smoked salmon. The salmon was tasty but didn't have much smoky flavor. When I checked the smoker, very few wood chips had burned. This was probably caused by the bulging of the smokehouse floor. The center of the pan was in contact with the bottom of the smoker. Tonight I hit the bottom of the smoker with a hammer and leveled it. I will try again another day.
