Generally these lights do a good job of illuminating the SUV. Had to buy a USB switch to add this as I only wanted the light on when I needed it. My 2018 Forester has a "cigarette lighter" in the cargo area. So I bought a dual cigarette lighter USB port and stuck a switch in it. Just press the switch and the light will turn on. What I didn't like about these lights was that the wiring was too short. From the port on one side of the SUV, a longer chain of lights barely reaches the other side of the SUV. And that's the wiring just under my carpet. I also tried running it to the other side of my SUV's rear window and it was missing a few feet. I've tried splicing the wiring to extend it and the wiring they use is very finicky and flimsy. I used 16 gauge stranded wire and it didn't allow the light to work properly. It will likely require either threading or the use of 20 gauge or larger. The wire used was a very thin twisted wire. The glue on the headlights was pretty bad too. Most likely the plastic trim of the car. But it won't stop there. But it sticks well to glass. Although the lights themselves are pretty bright. Not blindingly bright. But enough to get you in the mood, I think you can tell. For my purposes it was rear cargo area lighting in the woods after or before a hike where there is no light. And for these purposes he does his work. It would also be good for running board lighting as it's not bright enough to be distracting but just enough to create a nice glow around the area.
