What a difference! With this sound bar I can hear what is being said. I'm older so my hearing isn't as good as it once was, and combined with the way newer programing seams to "blast" the volume for the sound track, the voices often get left in the dust. I easily connected the sound bar to my TV in about 5 minutes, following the clearly written instructions. I am using the surround sound at number 1 setting, and the acuvoice at number 3, and can hear perfectly. The remote control is easy to use. Highly recommend this unit.
