It needs to be constantly turned on and off by flipping a wired switch on the wall (good thing I wired it that way) because it just stops sending its signal . It's great when it works, but then it gets catatonic after a while. This happens with all 5 I have installed in my house. I bought 5 and 1 of them is now completely dead. These things are starting to raise suspicions in my opinion. I contacted support and they responded very quickly so we'll see how they handle it. Update: They sent a replacement for the dead man. But others still have this problem where the app just doesn't see them. If I turn off the power to the circuit they come back, but not for long. Not sure what the problem is, but overall it's not worth the $100 for the disappointment. UPDATE: 6/2017 Downgraded to one star. The one in the master bedroom now started randomly turning on the lights and/or fan on/off at high speed in the middle of the night around 3am. He did it several times in the middle of the night. You just have to pull it out and insert the standard remote control.
