I have a barking terrier mix and have endured his barking at any provocation for years. But just a few years ago we added a Golden Retriever into the mix that we couldn't take anymore. The terrier teaches the golden to constantly bark, and now both feed on each other's energy. It drove us crazy. When I received this combo pack, I put the shock on the small dog first (sound/vibration only) and the vibrator on the large dog. I thought that Golden is younger and does not need such a correction. I should also mention that we have an invisible PetSafe fence that runs around our yard so both dogs are already familiar with the beep, vibrate and shock sequence as they approach the fence. This product worked better than I expected. As a result, both dogs immediately stopped barking every time we let them out, every time a package was delivered to us, and every time we encountered other dogs in the neighborhood. Finally peace! I didn't have to use any shot correction at all. A beep and vibration are enough to stop them. The terrier still has to fight his barking instinct. I see how he thinks about it. He even tested his limits. He growls a little when he hears a car pull up in the driveway or lets out a single bark, but this collar keeps him from the constant, annoying tirades he normally makes. If I have any complaints about the product, I would like the battery life to last longer. Otherwise I am very satisfied with it and do not regret having bought it many years ago.
