I've noticed that many people who import PS Vita Slim complain about the quality of the console. I'd like to start by saying that the PS Vita Slim isn't meant to be upgraded to its bulkier counterpart. On the contrary, it's meant to be a competitive buy against the more popular 3DS. There are many differences: - The OLED screen has been replaced with a cheaper LCD screen. - Lighter and smaller console system. - The handles on the back of the Vita system feel more comfortable. - Charging via mini USB - 1GB of internal memory in the system. - In general, a cheaper quality system. That being said, the OLED screen is an integral part of the PS Vita experience, and stepping up to the PS Vita Slim doesn't mean the LCD screen is BAD anyway. It's rich and bright, too. Just remember that the purpose of the Slim line is to be more accessible, not to compete with and dethrone its bulkier big brother. won't see the price drop. This is a matter of course. Especially if you buy a limited edition Slim Line Vita like the Fenrir edition. It will cost you at least $300. But if you compare the prices of the thin standard model in Japan and the regular standard model, you'll notice the difference. You could do the same with the prices listed in America. Due to the fact that it is a cheaper and more affordable model, you should expect its build quality to be inferior to that of its older brothers. However, that doesn't mean it's poorly built. On the contrary, it's a pretty amazing machine. Light weight, bigger battery, decent screen and functional. That's why I gave 5 stars. Hopefully if you are planning to buy a PS Vita Slim you are aware of the differences and what the console is intended for. I hope you weigh the pros and cons. Thank you for reading.
