Review on Optimized Sled Trainer with Waist Belt for Adjustable Weights - Amazon Basics by Jarrett Love

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Changes to my fitness program!

This model appears to be based on the previous generation SKLZ Speedsac and is a great product. I prefer this model over the current SKLZ Speedsac which only has one usable side as they have chosen to use one side for their logo. Also, this version of Revain includes 4 weights instead of 3 SKLZs. The maximum number of bags I could fit was 5, but 4 is the optimal space. I prefer to fill bags with concrete mix rather than sand since cheaper concrete mix from the hardware store is a bit denser than play sand. As my title suggests, this type of sled is a game changer, especially for field athletes. With a tread on both sides, it's ideal for running carburetors as it's easier to flip and rotate the slide when cutting. My car is small so this item fits easily in the trunk of my car unlike a tramp. The lap straps are more comfortable than the chest straps offered online and interfere less with my running movements because the weight is shifted away from my center of gravity. I also like that after the initial filling of the bags, the rig is pretty much complete and ready for any use, unlike metal hobos and sleds that require you to worry about extra weight plates to lug around. I like that the rubber on the turf is a lot nicer than the metal scouts and sleds that tear up the grass in my park and get stuck in the bumps. I strongly recommend using this product on grass and indoor courts only. Do not use it on the street, sidewalk, or in a parking lot. I really have no complaints about this product. Yes, it's only 40 pounds (about 50 with concrete instead of sand), but that's fine for many people who still want to run fast with resistance. Also, I prefer them over speed slides because speed slides are so unreliable due to the wind strength and projections that can be unstable.
