Do you have a seawater tank? BUY THIS!

This thing is damn cool. Donate other hand-held instruments for measuring salinity (refractometers, hydrometers). you won't need them anymore. My video shows typical measurements. Calibration EXACTLY LIKE, but with steam distilled water! Who doesn't get distilled water? No tiny screwdrivers or fiddling with light sources. For 4 months I have been dealing with the problem of salinity in a reef aquarium. Eventually I had 4 different readings +/- 3% on two instruments at the same time. The calibration liquids did not produce the same values on the same device - which one is "correct"? This device solved all my problems - it confirmed that I had bad reference liquids. The only critical inputs I have are statements that say "completely fill well" but not a number that says "full". It doesn't seem to matter as long as the jar is closed, but expect to experiment a little first. Calibration is not lost after a power outage, so you only need to calibrate it if there is a problem; but it's so easy you can do it before each measurement if you like. Comes with distilled water for cleaning and calibration and saline for testing, plus two pipettes and a 9V battery! The instructions even show you how to make your own test solutions! You'll look and act a little crazy after you get this - I've measured the water in the tank, the top of the water, the salt water I made to replace the water, and the calibration fluids and reference fluids, all while doing it like a villain laughed scientists. from the film category B. It will happen. I hope.
