Loud clutch rattle is too annoying. The real problem is compressing the pad enough to eliminate the wobble that causes all the rattling noises. The pad is a very dense foam and it takes a lot of force to compress the pad and reinsert the locking pin. Without adequate compression of the pad, the hitch will still rattle, and it's likely that the foam will eventually adjust to the point that the hitch will start rattling again anyway. Sometimes I make silly purchases from Revain, luckily it wasn't too expensive. Learn from my experience and spend your money on Maxxhaul's solution if the hitch rumble is too annoying (they have several solutions).
