The design of this product is terribly imperfect. The good news first: the pulley is strong and rotates the screen efficiently. The frustrations I have experienced are: 1. SANITATION PROBLEMS: If the retractable fabric cords get wet, they will become moldy. Also, the underside of the top is a non-separable disk, which creates problems when cleaning and drying. Mold will eventually form between the two parts of the cover and when the pulley gets wet.2. FUNCTIONAL PROBLEMS: The distance between the clear bowl and the base of the inserted green strainer is 1/8 inch, so the bottom of the strainer stops in the water. The lid is not fixed on the transparent bowl, and there is no spout, so it is a multi-functional operation: 1. Insert the colander filled with lettuce, 2. Tighten the pulley, 3. Press the STOP button, 4. Remove lids and strainer, 5. Drain water, 6. Repeat steps 1-5 until no water is removed.3. DESIGN Flaws (except for fabric cord and non-separable top): The outer bowl has a bubble hump in the center and the base of the strainer is curved to fit over the bubble hump leaving a 1/8 inch clearance. under a sieve.
