One of the pools stopped working after the first play with the toy. I guess it's just the wiring. It seems a little fragile and I was a little scared that I would break it, so maybe it was just me. Otherwise it's a cute toy. My niece loved to bang on it and dance to the tunes. Everyone wanted to play it, so I even bought it for myself to relieve stress. I love this toy. It's bright and really grabs your attention. The microphone also worked very well. Sounds very good, we had our own little karaoke. The microphone cable is long enough so you don't have to lean directly over the drum kit to sing along. The biggest downside is the lack of a power cord. This is the only thing I would change about the product as I foresee the need for frequent battery changes. The packaging said not to use rechargeable batteries, which was sort of my plan with the product, so that was a little disappointing. But overall I love the product and would recommend it. I bought this for my niece's 1st birthday even though I thought it said 3 plus. Maybe she's too young for the mic, but she loves the drums.
