I never thought that chalk could be so different. This chalk is so comfortable to write with - it doesn't creak, break or crack, there's a lot less chalk dust than the stamps the school buys. I have both whiteboards and chalkboards in my class and it was an impulse buy but after trying it I'll indulge myself over time. All parts arrived intact and the package protection was phenomenal. It erases sooooo much cleaner than Crayola and Prang. I read that this is a new composition and that the old one was better - I don't know why. This material glides across the board like butter through a warm pan. I'm going to keep this to myself and get the kids to write with not-so-good chalk. I chose colored chalk, it's much better too. It's much more pigmented, rubs off without ghosting, and leaves a clean, colorful line.
