This is exactly what I wanted and expected. I hooked it up to the lights in the garage and now they turn on when I enter and turn off a few minutes after exiting. The sound sensor works great too. The light turns on and stays on as long as you make noise and/or move. The light no longer goes out while something is being worked on. The only downside is that changing the settings is not easy. There are a number of settings, but only one button and one LED for changing functions. It takes a while to figure out how to get into setup mode, but the instructions are clear. Fortunately, the factory settings are suitable for most applications. The most important consideration is whether you can place it in a location that is visible from all of the room's entrances.
