Good product but needs better support

UPDATE: After two weeks of use I hated it. No matter what I did, wiring was impossible and my workstation looked like a rat's nest of wires. Also, I had to disconnect and reconnect the Thunderbolt cable multiple times when connecting my computer to the dock because the mouse and keyboard would work but the screen wouldn't, or the screen and keyboard would work and the mouse wouldn't, etc. I returned it and bought a Dell E-Port Advanced Replicator ($70) which was just what I needed to keep my workstation looking organized and professional. Please download the driver from Realtek official site only! *** I needed this to connect my laptop to a desktop workstation for the obvious reason. At the moment I only have one monitor connected and am using my laptop as a second display. I have a Precision 7520 and I connected this device to my laptop via the Thunderbolt 3 port. Initially only the screen worked, but after I unplugged the device from the Thunderbolt port and plugged it back in, my USB keyboard and mouse drivers worked loaded automatically and started to work. actually without a driver. Ideally, the driver should load automatically in the background and you don't have to worry about it. My automatic ethernet driver installation failed three times. I checked Cable Matters' website for this particular device and it didn't help in the slightest. The "helpful tips" they give you are not real solutions to the problem. It took me quite a while to figure out which driver to download, but it's the Realtek RTL8152 driver. Please download the driver from Realtek official website only to ensure the download is safe and virus-free. The USB-C cable is very short, I read that it is, but I was still surprised when I received it. I was planning on installing this device on the back of the monitor and hiding all the cables except for the USB-C cable. It's not going to happen. Is always. I can afford a longer cable after fully setting up my workstation and dual monitors.
