This range of cable end terminals will last the average user for a while. I guess I could buy regular aluminum for life for about the same amount, but they're stylish. They fit either brake cables or shift cables. The derailleur cables are set looser, so you have to crimp them tight. Others notice that they lose color when curled. This may be true if you're using regular pliers, but I've had no trouble using them with my Park cable and crimping tool.
