Let's talk about the price.

So I don't write many reviews. I have a good set of headphones including 58x, dt770, dt1990 pro and these. I was looking for some isolation as I live in a large family and my computer is in the living room. When I saw the HD-820 I was blown away, I thought they looked really cool. Then I looked at the price and oh the money. My wife somehow managed to get them for me as a main gift. The wearing comfort was not very good at first. I have a big head and my earlobes touched the pads on the bottom. I gave them some time and now they fit like a charm. They are very comfortable, I don't have any hot spots around my ears or over my head. They are incredibly light. how do they sound Well, everything is there. Each tool and you can see where each tool is in the air. This is surprising since these are closed headphones. I've even played some games on it and can distinguish several footsteps in my environment better than any other pair of headphones and do it accurately. So now the price. Got it in "like new" condition for 2k which is not bad. Came as in the description. People say they sound very similar to the HD800 and cost $1,000 more. People sometimes underestimate the importance of the techniques that need to be implemented to make closed-back headphones look like open-back ones. Sennheiser was the first to accomplish this feat and for me it was worth it. A closed headset is very helpful, especially for your hearing. You will greatly reduce the volume as outside noise is less of an issue. So yeah, to some people they might not sound any better than the cheaper HD800s, but they're definitely what I was looking for and I appreciate the ingenuity that went into making these headphones.
