Can't catch a cold

Try to use them for a side project. The temperature is 29 degrees. They don't hold up and break when you try to tighten them. You remain flexible so I don't understand. They didn't become little sticks that couldn't be bent. They stayed flexible and folded perfectly around fence posts, but when you try to stretch them, they break off almost halfway. If you must use them, keep them warm. They don't like the cold.
