God it stinks! I usually take regular Chaco strappy sandals for me and my son, but I decided to buy us both Odyssey shoes. The children's version, unlike the adults, has a completely closed heel and they also have no way of draining the water that gets into them. . It's a water shoe, so.?. Even if they are quickly removed and dried they stink, I contacted Chaco and they said to machine wash them and I will, but to be honest I don't see it going away. None of his other shoes smell that bad. Even the ones he wears with no socks, like crocs and Nike sandals. The bad news is they're only a few months old and have only gotten wet twice. Now they end up in the trash can. However as they are so cute and he said they are very comfortable I will be ordering them again for the holidays.
