This will NOT mark where the nail is unless you hang the frame directly on the nail. It marks where the wire is on the device, regardless of the length of the hook. If you drive a nail in where it marks the wall, the frame will end up being much lower than intended. The level is also useless as it only shows if the level itself is a gadget. The frame could hang completely askew on the device, and its height cannot help determine when the frame is actually straight. It also doesn't help to place several frames around each other. Basically, you still need to do a number of manual measurements, markings, and alignments. I have no idea why it has so many good reviews, unless people just randomly hang things without caring how accurate the positioning is.
