Very fluffy, very warm and cuddly! A detailed review follows.

To start this review I would like to say that a few months ago I had a white duvet and I decided to buy it to replace my favorite duvet (it was worn out after 8 years) ! Also, before purchasing this duvet, I read MANY positive and negative reviews to be as sure as possible that this is the RIGHT duvet alternative for me. Before I figure it out though, these are the pros and cons of this blanket: Pros: +weight/looks/fluffiness/softness of blanket - most in my opinion. That's about the same weight as my now-retired white down jacket. Even looks like my old Dawn on my double bed! * Also, this comforter is SUPER FLUFFY, it's like sleeping under a soft and fluffy CLOUD! The material is similar to cotton but on the outer shell and filling is 100% polyester. SOFTNESS of the material - I find it SOFTER than say 100% cotton or even 50% cotton and I'm picky about softness + Year round use - YES! I personally am a cold person so I have to wear a duvet all year round and I hate changing my duvet for summer/winter etc. This works well for me, even in winter. Here in Central Arkansas where I live (mountains are everywhere I live) we have our fair share of snow (several times a year) as well as a few freezing nights etc. At this time I lay down a soft and fluffy soft white blanket under the covers for extra warmth and savings on heating bills (I keep the stove at 68 degrees at night to save energy)! + Easy to wash and dry - Washable - I washed this in an OLD Magtag washing machine that is 18 years old. and has only LARGE CAPACITY (not EXTRA LARGE). The duvet fit snugly in that old washing machine so I put it very carefully in my old washing machine! I washed on a COLD WASH and rinsed with Wool-lite washing machine detergent. Result? The duvet came out of the washing machine very clean and did NOT cause the ROTATION to get out of control like a couple of pillows for example can sometimes do! Washing machine and duvet worked well. Dry. I put this in my OLD Magtag dryer at normal temperature with 3 sheets of lavender scented fabric softener for exactly 45 minutes. Result? The comforter came out of my dryer very FLUFFY and smelled wonderful.+ What to expect after the wash/dry - Right after I washed and dried I put the comforter back on my bed and it was quite FLUFFY but LIKE FLUSH to some of the squares had a lumpy/bumpy effect like my old down comforter. This is natural and normal for this type of padding and also because the squares on this pad are so large and the padding is thicker than say a cheap normal pad so expect it! was in the middle): I smoothed it out with my hands and most of the clumpy effects just smoothed out. + Savings compared to dry cleaning my OLD TRIP - Like clockwork I took my comforter to the local dry cleaner once a month and dry cleaning costs have never been cheap! This went on for several years - with this new one it was no longer! + Price / Quality - For the price I paid for this duvet I am very happy with it. In terms of quality, I think the quality is excellent compared to the price. paid! This is NOT 5 star hotel quality but I still give it a real 4.5 stars because I really like this duvet! CONS (only one I found): - Clumpy/bumpy (somewhat) after washing/drying - I knew this could happen because I had a real down comforter, so that was to be expected. If you can't take it, then I suggest you get a regular duvet with no down, or even a comforter. Suggestions for measuring your bed size: 1) This is an 88x88 size that will EASILY fit an ENTIRE bed or a KING BED if you don't have a PILLOW or a THICK mattress, say 9 inches or more. As for me, I do NOT have a PILLOWTOP queen mattress, just a pillow top mattress, so this queen hangs right under my skirt on my bed. 2) If you have a PILLOWTOP Queen mattress I suggest you buy a KING size as it takes longer to sink into your skirt and doesn't look flimsy! Bottom line: if you have a duvet, I think this is a great alternative. If you are used to a very thick quilt, then this quilt is medium thick but not thin either. Being so picky about duvets I can honestly say I love them and highly recommend them!
