The brake booster itself is identical to the factory in shape, size, colors, even the shape of the pushers. The manufacturer's website says this is the right option for my '97 Jeep. However, the length of the brake pedal push rod is 1/4 inch shorter. This lowers the pedal 1/4 inch so the brake lights stay on. This is because the brake light switch is now too far from the new (lower) pedal pad height. I have yet to figure out how to adjust this foot to increase pedal height. So far it has not been settled. You can adjust the master cylinder push rod, but that will not fix the problem. The images above show that the new brake pedal push rod is 3.5 inches from the base and the old one is 3.75 inches. And no, there is no gasket between the firewall and the amplifier. I had no choice but to quickly install the rubber pad and tape it to the brake pedal lever to get the brake lights working again, as long as I find the right booster with the right length brake pedal pushrods. It's the only car in the house, so get creative in the meantime. 97' Jeep Wrangler Sport (TJ)
