I am a keen handyman and this is my first replacement of this type of cartridge in my kitchen sink. I'm ashamed to admit my mistakes, but I hope this helps someone. What not to do.1. Turn off the hot and cold water supplies. Turn on the faucet to flush the lines and make sure the water is actually turned off. 2. Loosen the set screw, remove the handle. (Removing the set screw is not required)3. Remove the silver dome.4. Remove the brass locking ring.5. Remove the old cartridge.6. Where the old cartridge was, it's half full of water. Ahh, you'll be fine! The brass ring pushes the cartridge down. Insert the old cartridge, replace the circlips, put on the handle and check the water. Works great, good job, pat me on the back. Turn off the water. Wait 5 seconds. Water squirts out of the handle, making a mess from above and in the cupboard under the faucet. Defect part? After all, it's plastic! What the hell happened? Ok, I made a mistake here. - After removing the old cartridge, blot up the remaining water in the hole with paper towels or something similar. - Then make sure that the seal of your old cartridge is not stuck. to the faucet body, like mine. Remove the old gasket where the bottom of the new cartridge will be. My old seal was clear, not blue. The next step. I think it's worth putting with a dry seal? Keep calling Pfister who says to use plumber's putty. Yes No. Keep reading Amazon reviews and Q&A, I see people mention lube. I have a Sil Glyde Nappa in my garage, hmm. Oh! I have a tiny little container of oatmeal silicone grease. I don't know if this is necessary, but I honestly don't see it hurting the seal or me. I put some of it on the gasket and mating surface, which I wouldn't normally do, but this silicone was like water, nothing like Napa-Seal-Gleit. and her house in the crane body. Install the cartridge, move it left and right until you feel the pins click into place. Mount brass ring, silver ring, handle, check and now everything is ok. BTW, one of the things I should star up above is "Stretch" what the heck is that? I gave zero stars because I don't know what that means.
