Review on KEPEAK Flashlight High Lumens Rechargeable, 10000 Lumens LED Flash Light, Tactical Handheld Flashlights Super Bright, Zoomable, 5 Modes & Mode Memory, Water Resistant For Emergency Camping Hiking by Casey Oliver

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Sturdy flashlight with a long battery life (17+ hrs on lowest brightness)

I ordered this Kepeak flashlight for emergency purposes since we live in SW Florida and often get hit by big storms and occasionally lose power. I figured that this flashlight will come in handy during those outages. The listing describes the flashlight’s battery lasting between 5-15 hours, so I tested the flashlight’s battery power by leaving the fully-charged light on at the strongest brightness to see how long the light lasted. Atbthat strongest brightness, the flashlight only lasted 3.5 hours before the light dimmed out. After recharging it back to 100%, I re-tested it at the lowest brightness setting and the battery lasted more than 17 hours.PROS:(1) It’s small enough to easily hold in my small hands, yet is powerful enough to provide a very strong light.(2) It comes in a nice hard case with foam padding. This will help me keep the battery-housing and charging cord together with the flashlight and not misplace them.(3) The flashlight has an indicator (4 small blue circles of light) to show how much battery you have left on a charge.(4) It has an adjustable wrist cord that is easy to use and secure in place.(5) The "Zoom” function allows you to narrow the beam of light from its full width to small circle of light. Think of this feature as more of a focused beam of light…for when you don’t want to light up a huge area. See my indoor comparison pics of the normal width light vs. the zoom light.CONS: (1) I thought you have to cycle through all 5 modes (including the obnoxious strobe and SOS modes) in order to turn it OFF, but apparently there is an easier way, but it’s not in the instruction booklet included with the flashlight. The directions do NOT tell you that you can hold the ON button down for 3 seconds to turn the flashlight OFF in any mode. It only mentions this important detail in the Ebay listing description. I don’t always go back to a listing to read the original description for the features of a product after I receive it. I expect those details to be included in the instruction guide with the product. Given that this is an important feature, you’d think the manufacturer would want to include it in the instructions.(2) There isn’t a huge difference between the three light power settings of High/Medium/Low.(3) In the listing, it shows this flashlight lighting up a large area of forest in the dark. I don’t see that as an accurate depiction of this flashlight’s capability. See my uploaded picture of what the brightest setting looks like at night in an area with lots of vegetation.OVERALL:This feels like a sturdy, well-made flashlight and is easy to carry and hold. The button to turn the light on and toggle through the light settings is easy to find in the dark and is in a good position on the flashlight. While it may not light up a deep forest as the description’s images imply, it did provide a long life on the battery at the lower brightness setting and will be useful in an emergency.
