Review on Silicone Conductive Rubber Pads for Sony Playstation 4 PS4 Controller: Ambertown 1 Set - Repair/Replace Dualshock 4 Buttons by Patrick Matin

I bought this kit to replace the R1/R2 conductive pad on a friend's DualShock 4 (CHU-ZCT2) controller. The last is larger than the factory and will need trimming to fit properly. After testing showed that registering required the button to be fully depressed, I examined the underside of the pad and noticed that the black button that contacts the tape track is higher in the pad than it was on the factory pad (hence the reason it needs to be pushed all the way down). Now I have to look elsewhere for a new gasket. I'm not sure why they were made that way. I have the newer model DualShock 4 controllers so I can't tell if they were made for the earlier model (CHU-ZCT1) or not. Check the label on the back of the controller before ordering. If you have CHU-ZCT2 like me, don't buy it. **EDIT -- 3/24/21** Okay, after doing some research I found out that this product listing is misleading. Although these are actually conductive pads for the DualShock 4 controller, they are designed for a SPECIFIC TYPE of DualShock 4 controller. You should look up the model number on your controller motherboard before figuring out which pads you need (you'll find this number on the front of the board closer to the top - the side where the joysticks are located). These pads work specifically with JDM-001, JDM-011, and JDM-020 boards. I believe these boards have been found in previous DualShock 4 controllers (CUH-ZCT1) since console launch. They will NOT work with new DualShock 4 controllers (CUH-ZCT2) released since 2016 as the board models are different: JDM-030, JDM-040, JDM-050 and JDM-055. I strongly advise everyone to use the AliExpress.com order lists to find out which pads will fit their controller. There are listings showing pictures of each final style and the matching model number. This is how you can order the right pads for your controller. I'm changing the star rating for this review based on the fact that these pads SHOULD work with the right controller.
