Tried different methods to match the front and rear drills. Center drilling makes it almost impossible to center the tool as the point on the tool has no center. I also tried using a stationery machine to mark matching edges on both sides to line up the outside of the cutter with the lines, but that doesn't work either because the cutter moved in the mount between the back and front cuts. They include an extra set of screws, which is important as the pre-installed set screws are relatively easy to remove given they are cheap components. The edgers broke one of the bits while cutting the maple. The few times I've gotten the front and back perfectly centered and aligned, once the drill bit breaks through the first cut, the ring doesn't just fall through the floor perfectly, it gets stuck a bit and the cutter breaks the ring just cutting . I tried several methods and different trees and never got an acceptable result. Save your money and divert it to a small lathe, as this tool is utterly useless in both quality and ability to make a ring.
