Arrived broken - terrible quality control

The turntable arrived just in time for Christmas but was a huge disappointment. The noise was awful, and on closer inspection it was pretty obvious that the wheel was tilted badly. Why is there so little quality control effort that such an obvious quality issue is still shipping? It's frustrating to come back and even more annoying to give something so horrible to an excited friend only to be disappointed.
