Review on ๐ŸŽจ Vibrant Watercolor Pencils 36 Set with Brush for Adults and Kids: Ideal for Stunning Artwork and Drawing (36 Color) by Lori Aguirre

It's good, but it's a cheap imitation of the original.

I wouldn't normally compare a similar brand to a more expensive brand but this one has so blatantly broken the label on Faber Castell Aquarelle watercolor pencils that I have no choice as I don't want anyone to confuse them. If you look at my photos you will see how real this packaging and even the design of the pens are. They're even called watercolors, and the case really does resemble that of the Faber Castell. The text is the same, the inside is the same, even the pens are similar. But real ones have blue dots on the sides that are soft and help hold pencils better, while they just have silver dots that do nothing but make them look like it. I don't know why companies do this because it's misleading. The pens come in a metal box and there are two plastic pen trays. The trays are very thin and the top is difficult to remove as it is so thin. There's also a brush in the set, but it's not very good, so I'd recommend using your own. I checked the pencils and they are ok but certainly not as good as the original. They're great for beginners or just for those who want to paint with watercolors, but they're not of professional quality and anyone used to using quality watercolor pencils will notice the difference. Some colors have decent pigment, but many are quite light and you really need to apply a lot of color to get a good result. Black isn't very pigmented at all - a good color to judge quality by. Also, they don't completely dissolve when you add water, so you often see pencil lines left behind after the water has dissolved. Some of the colors even had extra lines that appeared after I added water - something you don't want to leave in your watercolors. I also tested their blend and they did the trick but you can tell it's not great because while the blue is really pigmented the red isn't that strong so the blend of the two looks blurry. For the price they are ok and suitable for most beginners but I just don't recommend them as they try to make themselves look like more expensive brands. They should only use their own branding and not rob other companies.

Pros
  • IMPECCABLE QUALITY: High quality, artistic quality colored pencils that rival the top brands in color range, high pigment concentration and great value for money. Thick cores are ideal for shading and shade. Robust construction made from high-quality wood, making it unbreakable.
Cons
  • Other Other
