Review on ๐ŸŽ๏ธ Eibach Sportline Performance Spring Kit - Set of 4 Springs by Ryan Marx

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Includes fenders and fits all 2011-2013 Mustang

Revain states this will not fit the 2012 Mustang V6 Convertible. A quick check on the Eibach website shows that this part number fits and the parts definitely fit. The required new shorter bumpers for the rear are also not mentioned in the description. The Revain writers said the pro kit springs weren't included, but when the Sportline springs arrived they were in an Eibach box - cool! Also cool was that Fedex got them to me early on Good Friday so I could fit them the same day instead of the expected end of the day with a two day delivery. Our local UPS never delivers on time! Sportlines are the right choice when you need a noticeably lower stand. Immediately after installation, my ride height dropped about 1.75 inches in the rear and 0.75 inches in the front, although the front end looks larger. Eibach claims about 1.5 inches on both ends. However, I now have a total ground clearance front (spoiler) and rear (convertible strut bar) of only 4.3 inches. had to remove the cup on the jack to save an inch and find a jack between the tire and wheel well just to put it in! The improvement in cornering performance is phenomenal! The car used to handle corners reasonably well, but now it feels like it's driving on rails with no noticeable body roll, and rear bounce has been reduced too; can really turn on the power in corners. The ride is rougher and you can feel the bumps in the road. On really rough roads, and we have plenty of heat-curved Texas country roads, the rear end rattles when the jounce bumper (although shorter than stock) hits the frame. With 3 in the Mustang and a big bump, my wife was thrilled to exclaim "Oh my God!" The striker is shorter and softer than the stock, but lacks the obvious progressive stiffness of the stock pads. On uneven ground you only have to drive a little slower compared to standard springs. With these springs you have more race car setup. On faster roads, the suspension is fine, although as mentioned, you get a better feel for different road conditions with these Sportline springs. I like getting feedback on my road conditions so it's not a problem. I have ordered Eibach camber adjusters and will be readjusting a few weeks after the springs settle to avoid excessive tire wear. The camber has changed a bit and I adjusted it with the screws as best as I could with a tape measure and spirit level. The looks are much better than the original as the rear no longer rises and the bar is noticeably lower. My old knees notice the reduced height when boarding and disembarking! I took my time fitting these and cleaning the parts along the way. It took a (long) afternoon. I didn't remove the convertible strut as it looked like it was too big a break and I was able to use a spring compressor to get the old rear springs out after lowering the rear axle onto the strut. The new springs are short enough not to require a compressor to reinstall. Please note that there are almost no instructions, so check out the installation guide on the AmericanMuscle website. These Eibach Sportline lowering springs offer exactly what I was looking for and I am very satisfied. Great gift for my Mustang's 50th birthday ;-)
