I needed to fix an issue with a broken HDMI port on my PC and since its own monitor was also broken this caught my attention. The price was right so I ordered it and installed it right away. The instructions that came with it mention that the USB cable needs a DC connection to the wall, but since my computer has a lot of USB ports I decided to give it a try to see how it works. It worked perfectly. The audio is loud and clear through the microphone port and the picture looks great on my TV. The only downside I see is that the box says 1080p but my picture is only a 4:3 aspect ratio, but that must be due to the type of output this adapter is using to project the picture to my TV to project. I don't think that's a problem, and combined with a wireless keyboard and mouse, I now have the settings I was looking for to use my computer in my living room. Try it, it worked great for me! Update: 10/24/20 Unfortunately, after using my computer this morning I had to connect to my meeting via Zoom, but now my TV screen just shows green. While I didn't expect a long lifespan from this solution, it should have lasted over 5 weeks. I would still buy it again, just hoping to get good results with any warranty available.
