The charging port on my iPad only worked intermittently. Either it is dirty or the component is broken. Apple told me they can't replace it because there are no separate components. Anyway, my choice was to live with a really bad charging port and try to fiddle with it, or buy a new iPad. Then I realized I could use the charging cradle for my iPad PRO. It works great, and it's better to spend $100 on it than spend $1,000 or more on a new iPad. The only possible downside is that you have to be pretty precise when you put the iPad in the charger. It should be in the middle and it "clicks". it's all magnetic, but everything has to be aligned properly. I highly recommend this product.
