Gaskets are stiff enough not to compress or deform under significant loading or when driving a wedge into gaps. I hit her surprisingly hard with the hammer without even cracking the corner. They are strong and tough but not brittle. I screwed (#8) and nailed (12D) through them without chipping/cracking. They are cleanly made - each pad matches composition and dimensions. They are essentially pre-cut thanks to their "ribbed" design, making them easy to snap to the desired length/thickness. If you can use a precise blow with a hammer to break them, or if you don't have strong hands, they can easily be cut with scissors, a diagonal, or a knife. The Deal Guys got them to me quickly, in perfect condition and at a great price. I can't confirm the claim that they never rot yet, but from what I see/feel in terms of finish and design I'm sure they will perform reliably both inside and out.
