The first unit delivered did not work. The map was not displayed correctly. If you try to use the menu, it will be blocked. After speaking to a tech and doing a basic reload, the map partially recovered but still locked when you tried to use the side or menu button. The captain confirmed the problem and said it needs to be returned. I asked if they would give me a repaired device or a new device in return. He said since I bought it new I would get a new replacement. I told him I would use UPS for the return and he gave me the number. I thought it was a phone number to pay for shipping. It was just a customer number for her use. I had to pay out of pocket to send back a new defective unit. In return, I received a refurbished device. I emailed GARMIN about my issue and they gave me another address to send my complaint to. No Answer! The refurbished unit works fine, but I could have saved money if I had bought the refurbished unit from the start. Maintenance has been good but if you run into issues with customer complaints you are on your own. I'll update this when GARMIN investigates the complaint, but it's been about 2 weeks.
