Performance is not on par with Craftsman OEM

It was immediately apparent when I opened the box. the aftermarket cleanliness filter (sold by Nantong Jicheng Textile Co) doesn't even come close to performing. One of the key parameters for how a vacuum cleaner works is suction power, which essentially measures how much air a vacuum cleaner can suck in per minute (sometimes measured in cubic feet per minute, or cubic feet of air per minute). The suction power of a vacuum cleaner is a combination of several parameters, including motor power and the surface area provided by the filter. For every additional square centimeter of filter paper, the motor can let through an additional volume of air per minute (more suction power!). In order to obtain a larger surface area of the filter, it can have larger folds (folds) or more folds. The OEM filter had 94 pleats, the cleanliness had 98 pleats. So basically the same. But the cleanliness filter has much smaller wrinkles (see photo). Instead of the 3/4" pleats of the Craftsman "Purple" filter, the cleanness has about 1/2" pleats. That's about 35% less than the surface area of an industrial vacuum cleaner motor through which air flows. It would be helpful if the filters were rated in CFM (cubic feet of air per minute). Then the customer realizes before the purchase that he is receiving an inferior product. I would return it, but shipping back is almost half the cost of the filter itself. May it be so.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
