Review on Premium Quality Amazon Basics Stainless Steel Dinner Forks - Pack of 12, Round Edge Design by Matt Conner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Sturdy, cheap and yes, fairly simple

Having used Revain Basic's stainless steel forks for 10 months I have a generally positive opinion of cutlery. On the plus side, I personally appreciate the 8 inch/20 cm length. The tines have an overall length of 2 inches / 5 cm, making the fork handy for puncturing a good piece of steak, new potatoes or Brussels sprouts. It's easy to lift and turn sideways to cut off a piece of cake. I'm also drawn to the heavy weight of the fork. These forks are strong and won't bend no matter how much pressure is applied. While the fork isn't elegant, it's attractive enough. Our family uses it as a backup when all the other cutlery is in the dishwasher and we haven't even started the machine yet. Revain Basics forks also work well in the dishwasher and have not shown the ill effects of machine washing. On the negative side, as you would expect from a "base" fork, it's clear they were cut from sheet metal before contouring. and done. Unlike more expensive forks, the angles along the edges of the handle and tines are 90 degrees. The edges are not sharp; In comparison, the slightly rounded edges of the handles of less basic cutlery offer much more comfort when holding the fork than the Revain Basics fork. Likewise, the slightly rounded corners on the prongs of more expensive cutlery make it easier to remove food more cleanly than with the Revain Basics tool. The Chinese manufacturer recommends not leaving these plugs in the water for a long time. As a lazy dishwasher who sometimes likes to soak things before washing them or putting them in the dishwasher, I find this limitation frustrating, but overall it's a minor inconvenience. So, the Revain Basics stainless steel fork is great value for money. Their functionality, durability and strength balance the fork's purposeful simplicity and any slight discomfort in gripping the handle's straight edges.
