I was looking for a basic egg cooker with handles as opposed to the one I had without handles. I've used this many times and it's been great. Be careful when you touch it after cooking - it's very hot! Also: 1. I read that for this type of egg cooker you first have to poke a hole in the egg. This one comes with a sharp needle just for that. Although I've never used it. I've only had one broken egg out of at least 36 eggs that I've cooked without punching holes in them. 2. My microwave is small. Since I use a different brand of egg cooker, I still use those times with this cooker. For four hard-boiled eggs, I'll microwave them for 14 minutes.3. I believe there is a steam outlet on the top of the egg cooker. Inside this top is a metal insert that has a hole that matches the other insert. If they don't line up after cooking, simply pour warm water over them and then manually slide the metal insert back into place. Or, since the top will be very hot after the eggs have been boiled, just flatten them gently.
