I couldn't decide between 300s and Blueair 411 Auto so I bought both. In the end I decided on the 300s. Appearance: blueair Although a personal preference, blueair easily wins for me in this area. I like the Blueair's taller, thinner design when I want to put it there* (0.7 inch thinner). Also, the 411's cloth filter covers fit my decor better. Levoit is a huge piece of plastic and looks like it. The display above is slick, but I turn it off most of the time. Filter: Undecided, maybe with a slight advantage over the 411. The filter on the left glass is about twice as thick, but its outer surface area is about half that of the 411. Also, I think the cloth pre-filter on the 411 will probably handle it better that the real filter does not need to filter large particles. I suspect that's probably why the 411 filter will last longer. However, given the extra thickness of the Levoit, I'd bet it's better at filtering finer particles. Filter Cost: Third-party replacement filters are about the same for both. Though I suspect the 411 will need them a little less often due to the increased surface area of the filter's outer surface. External mounting: Levoit. The 411 doesn't actually have a frame that protects the filter from the outside. Working with the 411, I was constantly concerned that I might crush or otherwise deform* the filter (and I did). Another problem is that Blueair doesn't really give you a safe place to take the 411. Levoit, on the other hand, is a huge, hard piece of plastic to the touch. While I won't be moving it very often, there's a good chance my dog will nudge or nudge it (she sleeps next to it) so it wasn't that important. Fan. When shaking the device, there is no play of bearings or mechanisms. There are 4 fan speeds plus Auto (Sleep, Low, Medium, High) and the Auto mode toggles between those 4. An interesting feature is that whenever you change the fan speed the Levoit seems to overshoot the speed a bit, and then slows down the fan. from there. It doesn't really bother me as I don't expect to change speeds often. However, the 411 is a standard 6.5" fan with 5 blades (I didn't measure). As I shook the 411, I heard play in the fan mechanism. There are 3 fan speeds (low, medium, high) and automatic switching between them. 411. This means that the flying height is a whole gear higher than the air movement compared to 411. The specifications of the device confirm this fact. Noise: Levoit. This is by far the most important section for me. The 411 is audible even on the lowest settings (or on Auto), and worse, it has baseball card noise in the bike spokes (check out the video in my 411 review). Levoit is inaudible while sleeping, and I often use low noise levels when napping during the day. On medium and high the Levoit has a slight high pitched noise, but I don't have to use these settings very often. pull to stabilize. Insight cannot measure less than 2W and instead shows <2W. Also, the 300s were connected to Wi-Fi when I ran this test. Left Voice: Auto<2W, Sleep<2W, Low=5W, Medium=9W, High=22W. 411: Auto<2W, Low<2W, Medium 2W, High 9W. Because I leave this on Auto most of the time, this is the most important thing to me. Since both draw less than 2 watts, my estimated running costs for both are less than $2/year at $0.11/kWh. Basically, don't worry about power consumption. App: Levoit Although I'm a smart home enthusiast* (I have at least 70+ smart devices and about 25+ apps to control them all), I didn't care about any other app. I found that I actually use this one. It was easy to get started with Android* (I'm a nerd but it actually worked). The big benefit is that I've set the air purifier to run on medium when I'm not in the room (this is my office) and then back on automatically before I come back. When I return to my office, the air smells and feels noticeably better than the rest of the house. Also, it seems cool to be able to tell Alexa to turn on the air purifier. It would be more helpful if I could hang the second one in my daughter's room and switch it to soft white noise without having to enter the room.
