Mine was a defective bead and jewelry making item

Defective unit. I had the previous one for about a year before just throwing it away (it was a different brand but the same product). This unit only lasted a day or two and after playing around with the batteries for a while I realized that the switch must have a loose connection. I have to keep pressing it with my fingers. I hurt my finger and now it won't even turn on.
