This is the second time I buy this item. The first leash lasted about 2 years using it multiple times a day on my VERY energetic and enthusiastic Golden Retriever. I chose this replacement after the stitching on the first line's handle loop began to unravel. This buyback version of the leash was different from the start. There was a lack of overall competence. The skin was tough and tough and very, very thin. The handle is not double stitched like the first line. But the worst part was that after two uses, the silver finish on the clasp literally peeled off like a thick silver paint, exposing the gold-colored metal. And as I grabbed the clasp to attach it to my dog's collar, I cut my finger on one of the pieces of the silver "thing" that was peeling off. I sent the leash back.
