Review on 💿 Western Digital 500GB 2.5" HDD for PlayStation 3/4 (PS3 Fat, Slim, Super Slim, PS4) by Owoeye Reed

I bought this drive to replace a 150GB Playstation 3 hard drive because I could finally connect my PS3 to download games from the PS Store! This hard drive arrived exactly as advertised. However, when I bought it, I couldn't tell if it was a brand new product or a refurbished product. When I installed it, it definitely seemed restored as it already contained some data. PS3 formatted it so I have no idea what the data was (as I had no way of reading the disc outside of the PS3). So note that it is most likely a refurbished hard drive. There is only 40 MB of free space left on the standard hard drive. I transferred all my data from my PS3 to a 160GB flash drive (it took 5 hours). I then went to the Playstation website and downloaded the latest system update to a USB drive (this is a REQUIRED step when installing a new hard drive. You will need to follow the instructions to create the correct file folders on the USB drive for the PS3 to work read it.) Then replace the hard drive with this new one (using the PS3 manual as a guide). Then you turn on the PS3 with the flash drive plugged in and it will check for updates. After installation I restored all the data I had transferred to the flash drive (another 5 hours for the transfer) and I got it working again and everything looked the same as before. All my data was there and I had a lot more disk space! So far, so good! It seems to work quickly and quietly. If anything changes I will update my review.
