Review on Adjustable Resistant Durable FBTS Basic by Mary Hawkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very satisfied: Kitchen and dining room

I got mine today, put it on straight away and rinsed it off. They're not waterproof, but they are water resistant - drop some dishwater or soup stock on them and it'll likely bead up right away. I don't know how long they can last without soaking it up, but I purposely splashed some dishwater in and then spread it out; some escaped, some evaporated - didn't penetrate at all. I didn't realize that the ties were all in one piece, around the neck on one side, down the other. Thanks to comments from other reviewers I've now adjusted it to ride it a bit higher as I'm not tall. I'm going to tie knots at the ends as one reviewer suggested so the tie doesn't come loose from the apron in the wash. I'm also going to put it in a large mesh laundry bag to keep the ties from getting tangled (like I do with anything that has long ties). Speaking of ties, they are really long. I'm about three times her size or almost and I had just enough length to easily tie a bow in the back. This is the only apron that fits my girth. I had two different designs (one in two different color combinations). Not exactly exciting, but okay - at least no clashing colors, that's all I worried about with the random selection. I'm not sure if they're "retro" - I've seen so many fashion cycles come and go, I can't quite remember what was "in style" in the 50's and 60's (other than coral turquoise home decor !) to a central pocket takes some getting used to. I'm not sure what I would use it for if it could withstand splashes from dishwater or other liquids dripping into a pocket. Every apron I've ever had had a pocket on the sides, not in the middle. But he's there when I need him.
