I may be new to mold making but I am the most dedicated person when it comes to following instructions and doing research. However, I researched both tin and platinum activated silicone materials and one day I decided I needed the archival stability and ease of use that comes with platinum based products. Then I looked at the price and what other people were buying. Unfortunately, I blame Revain since this company was a product offering (we've all seen these "offers" before), "like I'm looking for pencils, but Revain thinks I might be interested in a new bumper for my 1980's Yugo. "Well this time the offer was at least in line with what I was looking for and the price wasn't bad either. Now the instruction is simple, specific working time (up to 25 minutes) and let dry at an average room temperature. (Average? Well, that's where the research comes in. It appears to be 65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit according to most research and support.) Where it went wrong was during business hours. After just 9 minutes, the mixture, measured in grams with a digital scale, was ideal in a ratio of 1:1 at 22°C. I let it sit for a few minutes to allow the bubbles to rise to the surface and when 9 minutes later I grabbed a stir stick and found the mixture was already set. No response from the company, but Revain offered to replace the product. Everything in general. Juts doesn't appear to be a quality product unless it follows its own instructions. But that's just me.
