This item was exactly the display and dimensions I needed to make the lids for my 2.5 gallon Aqueon tanks. It's clean, transparent, and comes with a protective film to keep it from scratching. I don't use them as a water separator so I'm not concerned about algae growth. I would buy again and recommend. Cutting: DO NOT USE SCISSORS. The correct way to cut this is with a decent utility knife, guide and cutting mat. It's thin enough that you can hammer and pierce it from the second pass, and it cuts perfectly. (See photo.) With the protective sheet, I used a marker to define the cut and then used a metal square on the cutting mat to mark. On the second pass, I pushed through to make the cut. If you've ever cut through hard plastic, you know that scissors tear you.
