Review on Rintuf 34'' Electric Fireplace Insert: Remote-Controlled Heater with Customizable Display, Timer, and Overheating Protection by Barry Shaker

Neat novelty best for heating, cooling and air quality

It is well made and looks very nice. The finish is consistent and the metal forming is sharp with no burrs or sharp edges like some inserts. The side label says "UL UL 1278 Compliant" but not "UL Certified" which is intentionally misleading. Also, I doubt these heaters meet the UL 1278 standard for overheat protection. Moreover, this model is not indicated anywhere in the attached instructions. The manual is for several other models but not this one. My biggest concern is the location of the heating element. The heating element is compact and is located in the top center of the front of the device. The heating element itself is about 3 inches from the outer shield. Regardless of the setting (high or low), the face will be melted, searing heat emanating from the front fingers. After 15 seconds of operation, the metal screen felt very hot. It is very dangerous for pets and children. Hot air will immediately cause discomfort, but hot metal will certainly cause blisters on the skin. The manufacturer even added a "Surface can get hot" warning as an excuse for poor design. I have another plug in heater with simulated LED fire and logs that has the heating element on the back and is safer and better channeled. heat circulation. This block is too massive to shove what appears to be a powerful heating element into the front without caring about the potential burn hazard. The beautiful glass dial with neat LED colors to simulate a burning fire is too conspicuous not to have safe heat dissipation for curious hands or paws. There are much safer options as long as you never use it around children or animals. Think of this as an overall addition to your space. I would keep looking I think. It is very heavy and bulky due to the small amount of heat it provides. If you only need anesthetics, this will easily work without using a heater.
