I docked this product to the 3.5" section of a 5.25" Hot Swap 2.5" 2-Bay SDD/HDD Dock and it worked in this situation it flawless. Both are ICY DOCK products that are purchased at different times and merged as needed. The sled is made of plastic and must be properly aligned with the tray when inserted as the plastic sled fits snugly into the containing 'tray'. Once you've done it a few times, you'll feel it.
