I have 2 VOIP on my laptop: Cisco IP Communicator (CIPC) and Cisco Jabber. I bought this headset when I work remotely 2-3 days a week. I prefer CIPC but have found this headset works better with Jabber. I'll give you my feedback based on speakers, microphone, call quality, cable and comfort. How many adjustments have I tried. There was still some echo with Jabber, but not as much. When you're on the phone, you should be aware that slight movements can cause noise in the speakers. The speaker volume was amazing! super loud I'd suggest hanging the headset around your neck on the first try until you've adjusted the volume so you don't jump out of your seat the first time you hear something. And you can only volume up/mute your phone on your computer, not on your headset or cable. Microphone I'm wondering if there is a noise canceling option with a microphone. When I used CIPC to change my voicemail message, I sounded distant, garbled/distorted, and you could hear every noise in the background. Voicemail recording was much better with Jabber, but I still had to make sure there wasn't a lot of background noise. Connection/cable quality is generally good. I asked the people I spoke to if they could hear me well as this is a new headset and I wanted to make sure we had a good connection. As long as everyone can hear me. Since I make a lot of calls, a hands-free headset is a must for me. My only option is to use the 3.5mm jack and I quickly found that the position and movement of the cable sometimes affects the call. The cord with the plug is only about 5 feet long and not flexible. The RJ9 cable can stretch well over 6ft but it doesn't work with my setup so I have no idea good/bad/terrible quality. I would like a more flexible and longer cable. Due to the limitation with the cord, I only put the headset on for phone calls. It is important to note that when using the 3.5mm jack the phone will only ring the headset and a notification will flash on the monitor screen. So if you happen to walk away from your desk, you can see if you've received calls. Comfort The headset is quite comfortable. I wear it 1-2 hours per call and then take it off and put it back on for casual use on shorter calls. The top of the headset is not padded. It didn't bother me, but it might be uncomfortable for someone with thinning hair or a bald person. I hope that over time I'll be able to refine the settings and improve the overall sound and call quality. I'm curious to see how durable this headset is with continuous use 2-3 days a week. All in all, it serves its purpose in using speakerphone with my VOIP when working remotely with acceptable quality at a reasonable price. Update: 17./20. February Knowing that the overall quality of the product would drive me crazy, I ordered a Plantronics Black Wire C3220 to see if I liked it better than a Cisco headset. So glad I did! I have a wireless Plantronic in my office, I've been using it for several years and I'm very happy with this product. I made the purchase myself and didn't want to spend too much. Plantronics Blackwire wins by a wide margin! Sound, microphone, control on the cable - that's victory, victory, victory. Needless to say, the Cisco headset is making a comeback.
